On Designing with a Present Mind

Ones ability to emote a true expression of designer consciousness is found within out inner work—the connection we extend into our design environments. Keying in on our sensory emotions provides a deeper understanding of our current mental state as is relates to our projects. To what end do we emote an expression that is ready to cast new and inventive creative expression in motion? Getting attuned with our sensory emotions lends itself to building an awareness of our ability to tap into new mental pathways. In so doing, we stand the potential to be more ready and available in our work—harnessing a more true and authentic form of sensing.

There are clear times of designer authenticity that speak to our natural attunement—when we come alive in our work from a natural and pervasive connection. But what are we to do when we are not opperating with such magnetism? How do we recharge? To what end can we deliberately state that we are not in touch with a project? Should we have that freedom to be clear on work that does not suite us?

uxRecoiling into a state of alignement is key here. We as designers are to be clear about our source fuel. Staying clear on our motivation and orientation to solve meaningful work is entirely relevant in harnessing a true form of designer authenticty.
