As men in our western cultures age, they are losing their sense of self-worth. And when self-worth tanks, so does sexuality.

We know that women dread "losing their looks” to the impact of time. We know also that men tend to worry about their sexual performance as aging brings such challenges as changing size and strength of erections.

We need to remember that without the warmth of affectionate touch, we fail to thrive – and some of us literally die.

Cultures create languages containing words to express what is valued as important. Languages evolve over time to reflect changing cultures. We live in an era when our languages tell us that we privilege issues of technology and violence over love and sexuality.
