When do the seasons change?

It has been two years and some months since the famine on planet Crypto started. Many projects have died along with their coins, unseasoned investors have been rekt with their hopes dashed. I clean some sweat and I check my bitcoin watch. The block halving is only hours away. This puts a smile on my face. I then stagger away in my worn-out boots, mustering enough strength to carry my cryptocurrency-filled backpack. This is my most valuable possession. The road ahead is hard and cracked just as it has been everywhere on this planet for the past two years and my conviction for a better season ahead is the same, albeit more solid than ever. It has been a rough bear season, shocking our most famous analysts but not our most seasoned.

One important metric that gives a genuine reflection of the seasons in this world is the BTC dominance, a measure of the percentage of Bitcoin market cap in the total cryptocurrency market cap. A fierce, endless battle featuring two powerful entities; Bitcoin against Altcoins with both cyclically struggling for control, or rather like a push and pull mechanism. I remember the good old days of 2017, when profits rained down everyday blessing everyone, whale or not. Around this time bitcoin’s dominance was at its lowest levels ever bottoming at about 33%, you could put your money in anything with a public ledger and expect a 5% increase the next morning. This was at the height of the last bull season. Everyone was happy, life was wonderful but nothing good lasts forever in this universe.

Amid all our celebrations and partying, the seasons changed abruptly. The sky darkened and the last of the rains fell. It rained blood, and we had our bath. Everyone lost as the prices fell over the next few months. Amid all these, my dear friend Hope got lost. He was nowhere after days of searching. No one had hope.

Despite all these, I move forward with faith. There is no going back now especially after the halving. Everything is gloom on this planet now, but fortune favors the brave. I will wait for the tides to change again. Hope always said, “buy the dip, HODL, and don’t listen to naysayers. Our time will come then we will go to the moon”. It’s already time. We must go to the moon.
