Ask others to repeat what they have said

One of the most common first symptoms of hearing loss is asking the people you are talking to to repeat what they have said. Of course, you will clearly recognize situations in which you did not hear someone because, for example, a car passed you. But in other situations when you cannot hear what the interlocutor is saying to you in a private conversation, you may suspect hearing loss.

You do not hear sounds from the environment

You feel a buzzing in your ears

Many people with hearing loss also have a condition called tinnitus. This is usually accompanied by ringing in the ears, but it can be different sounds that you hear without coming from your environment at all.
